Ranskill and Torworth WI was reformed in 1988. We are a group of ladies who enjoy social time together with an evening meeting once a month. On these evenings, we usually have a speaker and the topics are varied.
We also have good social activities with such things in the past as a murder/mystery evening. We have a stall at the Village Scarecrow Festival held in the summer and we have outings to various venues. Members enjoy an annual lunch in January, which is organised by our Social Secretary.
Since 2007, we have served refreshments at flu vaccination sessions held in The Butter Market in Retford and we have raised money through donations which has been divided between the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance Service and Bassetlaw Hospice.
If you are new to the villages, why not come and meet other residents and see what we can offer you. You may come as a visitor to see what it’s all about and you will be made very welcome.
Our meetings are in the Village Hall, Kennel Drive, Barnby Moor and they commence at 7.30pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month. There is plenty of parking at the hall or we can organise travel for anyone, if required.
For further details, please telephone Pat Blatchford on 01777 818519.
We’d be delighted to hear from you.
